Dagogo Altraide (ColdFusion)

Dagogo Altraide is a popular YouTuber.

He has more than 3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, ColdFusion.

Dagogo is also an entrepreneur, music producer, and author.

Introduction-

Dagogo Altraide was born on 21 October 1990 to Nigerian parents in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

His father worked as an offshore mechanical engineer for an oil and gas company and he was frequently transferred to different parts of the world.

So, from the age of 3 months until he turned 4, Dagogo grew up in various parts of Europe like England and Scotland.

Then, he moved to Perth, Australia and he is currently living here.

Dagogo is an Australian national with Nigerian ethnicity.

His father later quit his engineering job to work as thermodynamics and statics and dynamics professor at an Australian university.

Education-

In 2008, Dagogo joined The University of Western Australia in Perth to study a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

Here, he focused on materials engineering and graduated in 2012.

Then, Dagogo did post-graduation in Marketing from Curtin University, Perth.

A curious kid-

Since his childhood, Dagogo has been interested in science and technology.

As a child, he used to tinker with radios and build little electric cars.

An interesting fact- Michael Dell, the founder of Dell Technologies also tinkered with radios in his childhood.

ColdFusion-

In 1999, Dagogo got inspired by the Robot Wars Game Show which was then aired on Perth TV.

He was attracted towards robotics and a year later, he built his own robot which he named ColdFusion.

Dagogo’s father greatly helped him and used to answer all his queries related to science and technology.

In 2000, he named his band in high school as ColdFusion.

Entering YouTube-

Initially, in 2007, Dagogo created a YouTube channel and he used to upload music and guitar review videos onto it.

During that time, YouTube was just a fun project for him.

Starting ColdFusion YouTube channel-

Dagogo decided to start a tech YouTube channel when he got an HTC HD2 smartphone and so, he started the ColdFusion channel on 3 December 2007.

Initially, he made videos related to mobile applications and then, started posting smartphone reviews.

Later, as Dagogo lost interest in smartphones, he stopped posting their reviews.

Initially, he named his channel as ColdfusTion as there was already a YouTube channel by the name, ColdFusion but later he renamed his channel to ColdFusion TV and later, to just ColdFusion.

Michael Stevens of Vsauce is Dagogo’s YouTube inspiration.

First viral video-

The first viral video of ColdFusion is titled- Using The Galaxy Note As A Computer (With Accessories) [ColdFustion].

It was published on 17 March 2012.

After his post-graduation in marketing, Dagogo started producing videos related to big companies around the world like Google, Samsung, Apple, Walt Disney, etc.

His video about Samsung got featured in Time Magazine.

Eventually, Dagogo started producing videos on a wide variety of topics like history of products and technology, success stories and scandals in businesses, upcoming technologies, etc.

As his videos are very informative, they get played in various classrooms and lecture halls in several countries.

Working at various companies-

From 2008 to 2011, Dagogo worked in the customer service department in a Coles Grocery Stock, East Victoria Park.

In 2012, he worked as a Vacation Implementation Engineer for Clough Amec.

Then, from September 2014 to January 2016, Dagogo worked as a Change Management Communications Consultant for various oil and gas industry clients.

During all these years, he continued working on his YouTube channel.

Becoming a full-time YouTuber-

Dagogo started getting many positive comments on his videos and this encouraged him to continue working on ColdFusion.

And during that time, he didn’t like working as a Change Management Communications Consultant, so he decided to become a full-time YouTuber.

Apart from ColdFusion, Dagogo has a couple of other YouTube channels namely, ColdFusion Music and Burn Water – Topic.

Since May 2016, he is also working as a Marketing Manager for Electro.Aero.

A successful YouTuber-

Now, Dagogo is a successful YouTuber and as of December 2021, he has more than 3 million subscribers on his ColdFusion YouTube channel.

This success gave him speaking opportunities on international stages and he also got interviewed on TV and radio.

  • In 2016, Dagogo partnered with TEDxLA to work with Movements.org.
  • He doesn’t like social media and in real life, he is untalkative.
  • In 2014, Dagogo launched an Android app launcher by the name, Voxis Launcher.
  • On 15 January 2019, he published a book titled- New Thinking: From Einstein to Artificial Intelligence, the Science and Technology That Transformed Our World. According to BookAuthority, this book is one of the best technology books.
  • According to Dagogo, Google is the most innovative company of the 21st century.
