Bonin Bough is a popular veteran digital marketer, and marketing executive.
He is also an investor, entrepreneur, and author.
Introduction-
Brant Bonin Bough was born on 27 December 1977 in New York City (NYC), United States.
He was born in the 17th street of NYC and later moved to the 14th street.
Bonin’s father, Martin Bough was a jazz musician and a skilled special-effects photographer.
His mother, Monica Evans was also an artist and a businesswoman and she inspired him to become a successful entrepreneur.
Unfortunately, she passed away in 2016 due to a heart attack.
Bonin grew up in his parents’ photography studio in Manhattan, New York City.
He has a brother, Quavin Evans and he is a photographer.
Education-
Bonin did his schooling from Staten Island Technical High School in New York City, New York.
He completed his schooling in 1995 with a high school diploma in physics.
Then, in 1995, Bonin joined Hartwick College in New York to study for a BA in physics and a BS in political science.
He graduated in 1999.
Puzzles & programming-
At a young age, his mother would take thousands of puzzle pieces and throw them on the floor and mix them up and encourage Bonin to solve them.
He also grew up with Legos.
At 12, Bonin’s father gave him his first computer, a Commodore 64.
Later, his mother gave him a Macintosh 512K computer and he learnt programming on this computer with Sheets.
Initially, Bonin learnt programming on his own by reading books and later, he took computer classes in his seventh grade and he learnt the C and Pascal programming languages.
He also created a magazine WHAT! (Washington Heights Action Teens) and distributed in public schools.
Starting a company-
While studying in college, Bonin along with his college roommate, Jeremiah Baker started a web company by name, Northeastern Digital Media.
They used to develop websites and during those times, as the technology was primitive, the websites used to load slowly and so, they also used to develop loading screens (video games).
They also developed the first Soccer Hall of Fame website.
After graduating, they sold the company but couldn’t make much money.
Career-
In his ninth grade, Bonin worked as a graphic designer and later, as a junior partner for an accounting firm.
While studying political science for his graduation, he started doing freelance work as a programmer for Razorfish and Proxycom.
Once, Bonin attended a party and was influenced and decided to continue working as a programmer.
Later, he started working as a freelance programmer for Ruder Finn, a famous PR company.
Working as a UX Designer-
Scott Snyder, one of Bonin’s colleagues at Ruder Finn, wasn’t happy with his programming skills and so, he made him work as an information architect (user experience designer).
While working here, he travelled to many countries all over the world and was developing full on websites.
Also, Bonin took part in the development of websites of the world’s top five pharmaceutical companies.
Likewise, from September 1999 to August 2006, he worked for Ruder Finn.
Working at many prestigious institutions-
From 2002 to 2006, Bonin worked as an adjunct professor at New York University.
From September 2006 to September 2008, he worked at Weber Shandwick.
From February 2012 to August 2016, Bonin worked as a Chief Media and eCommerce Officer at Mondelēz International.
From February 2012 to October 2012, he worked as a VP at My Food and Family.
And from February 2012, Bonin is working as a Director of Global Digital and social media at PepsiCo.
Also, since August 2016, he is working as a television host at CNBC.
Here, Bonin hosted Cleveland Hustles along with LeBron James.
Since March 2020, he is working as a Chief Growth Officer at Triller.
Bonin also created marketing programs for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Fox, etc. and worked as the Chief Growth Officer of SheaMoisture which later got acquired by Unilever.
His ventures-
Bonin founded Bonin Ventures in October 2014.
This company helps businesses to grow their revenues and currently, here he works as a Chief Growth Officer.
In June 2020, Bonin co-founded Lockstep Ventures.
He has been very influenced by Indra Nooyi, a former CEO of PepsiCo.
His book-
On 16 August 2016, Bonin published his book titled, Txt Me: Your Phone Has Changed Your Life. Let’s Talk about It.
His YouTube channel & website-
On 13 October 2011, Bonin started his YouTube channel by name, Bonin Bough.
He also has a website by the same name.

Mobile Marketing Association named Bonin as the Mobile Marketer of the Year.
He has been admitted into the Advertising Hall of Achievement.
Also, Bonin has been featured in Fortune 40 Under 40, Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, Ebony’s Power 100, The Internationalist, etc.
He was one of the youngest-c-suite executives to work for Fortune 50 Company.

Also, he enjoyed the first-mover advantage as he started his digital marketing career when the digital marketing was in its nascent stages.
