She has more than 1.6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, ‘Hayls World.’

Introduction-

Hayleigh Chamberlain was born on 11 September 1992.

She hails from Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa.

Hayleigh’s mother, Lindsay Holt-Chamberlain, hails from Harare, Zimbabwe.

Her father’s name is Glynn Chamberlain.

Hayleigh has a brother, John Chamberlain.

Love for technology-

Since a very young age, Hayleigh has always been interested in technology.

Her father used to visit countries like Switzerland, Germany, etc. for business purposes and return with CD Walkmans; she had a penchant for these Walkmans.

Education & career-

Hayleigh did her schooling from Benoni High School, Benoni, South Africa.

Then, from 2007 to 2009, she studied for a music diploma at Campus of Preforming Arts, South Africa.

From January 2011 to January 2019, Hayleigh owned the ‘ENRO Design & Marketing’ in Johannesburg Area, South Africa.

Since January 2019, she has been a full-time YouTuber at ‘Hayls World.’

Starting ‘Hayls World’-

In 2014, Hayleigh entered a competition for Women’s Day on the Beauty Bulletin website; the competition required her to share her story on how beauty product(s) positively impacted her life.

So, she emailed her story about her favourite cosmetics brand, ‘essence;’ and the brand sent her a thank you package as a compliment; this inspired her.

In 2014, Hayleigh started her blog, ‘Hayls World,’ and started blogging about nail art.

Even though she started her YouTube channel, ‘Hayls World,’ on 17 December 2013, she published her first video, ‘Nail Art – Simple Rose Pattern,’ only on 30 March 2014.

Hayleigh decided to start working on her YouTube channel after observing that many YouTubers are following their passion and earning a full-time living with YouTube.

As her nickname is ‘Hayls,’ and as she decided to share her varied passions, she named her blog and channel as ‘Hayls World.’

Transitioning to tech, thanks to a viral video; her inspiration-

Even though Hayleigh started publishing beauty videos onto her YouTube channel, later, she decided to publish tech videos, thanks to her love for technology.

But at that time, she wasn’t able to as she felt gadgets to be expensive.

On 21 April 2017, Hayleigh published her first tech video on her new phone, ‘10 Reasons why I love my Rose Gold Samsung Galaxy S7 | Tech Review.’

Later, Instagram released Stories; at that time, she didn’t know how to use Stories, even researching online didn’t help.

So, Hayleigh learnt to use Stories and on 18 July 2017, she published a video on it.

This was her first viral video; a month after the video got published, it crossed a million views; thanks to the success of this video, she transitioned from beauty to tech videos.

Initially, when Hayleigh began watching tech videos on YouTube, she couldn’t find many female tech YouTubers; as the tech YouTube is male dominated, she longed to see more female tech YouTubers and their takes on tech.

This too inspired her to become a tech YouTuber.

YouTube over blogging-

Initially, Hayleigh started with blogging and later, she also started YouTubing.

In 2016, she was doing both along with her full-time job; at that time, she struggled to manage working on her blog, YouTube channel and job.

So, in 2016, Hayleigh decided to quit blogging and fully focus on her YouTube channel and job.

She started using her blog just to showcase her videos and gear.

In January 2019, Hayleigh became a full-time YouTuber.

Initial struggles; becoming a successful YouTuber-

Initially, Hayleigh used to film her videos in a single tiny room and didn’t have enough space.

So, she used to constantly shuffle her studio to get perfect angles and shots; sometimes, she also filmed on the floor.

Hayleigh DIYed her softbox lights using buckets, wax paper, and light bulbs.

Later, thanks to the success of her YouTube channel, she shifted to a spacious room for video production; later, she shifted to an even more spacious room, and in 2020, she shifted to a studio.

Upon reaching 100K subscribers on YouTube, Hayleigh celebrated by skydiving.

While living in South Africa, she found it difficult to get her hands on the latest gadgets; so, in 2023, she moved from South Africa to London; here, she set up a brand-new studio.

While living in South Africa, Hayleigh was the top tech YouTuber; her channel was the top 30 channels in South Africa.

As of September 2023, she has 1.66M subscribers on her YouTube channel and has 87.2K followers on Instagram.

Hayleigh earns from a variety of sources like advertisements, ‘Super Thanks,’ membership on her YouTube channel, and affiliate marketing; previously, she used to also earn by brand sponsorships.

Initially, she was a part of an ad network; later, she exited from it and now earns directly through the ads on her channel.

Hayleigh has a team consisting of a researcher, a scriptwriter, and a video editor to help with her YouTube channel.

She films her videos with a Canon EOS 90D and Sony Alpha 7C cameras.

Hayleigh is in a relationship with Mike.
