He has more than 24 million subscribers for his YouTube channel, BB Ki Vines.

Introduction-

Bhuvan Avnindra Shankar Bam (Bhuvan Bam) was born on 22 January 1994 into a middle class family in Vadodara, Gujarat.

His father, the late Avnindra Bam and his mother, the late Padma Bam were government employees and Maharashtrians.

Both Bhuvan Bam’s parents passed away due to COVID-19 in 2021.

Bhuvan Bam has an elder brother, Aman Bam who is four years elder to him.

Aman Bam is a captain and pilot at IndiGo.

Bhuvan Bam grew up in Malviya Nagar, Delhi and currently lives in South Delhi.

Both his father and brother had a good sense of humour and he inherited this sense of humour from them.

In his childhood, Bhuvan Bam suffered from stammering.

Education-

Since his school days, Bhuvan Bam has been interested in music and he completed his schooling from Green Fields School.

In his intermediate, he chose to study commerce and scored 74.25% in his twelfth standard.

Bhuvan Bam couldn’t succeed to join B.Com, so he studied B.A. (Hons.) in History from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, New Delhi.

Even though he was a very good entertainer he couldn’t perform well in academics.

A music lover-

After completing his intermediate, Bhuvan Bam tried to get a delivery boy job at Domino’s Pizza but he got rejected for the job.

Then, as he loved music, he convinced his parents to allow him to work in a job related to music.

During that time, Bhuvan Bam was learning Hindustani classical music from his mentor, Salman Khan Niazi.

Salman Khan Niazi is the founder and the front man of the Astitva Band and he offered him the job of a guitarist in a restaurant.

First job-

In 2012, while in his first year of college, Bhuvan Bam started playing music with his trio in the Moti Mahal Restaurant, New Delhi.

He used to mainly play ghazals and Bollywood songs there.

Bhuvan Bam used to perform six days a week from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m. and earned only ₹5000 per month.

He worked in the restaurant for two years and due to this his college education got negatively affected.

Learning from YouTube-

While working as a musician at the restaurant Bhuvan Bam got fed up with singing Bollywood covers and decided to write his own songs.

At that time he badly wanted to learn music and musical instruments like guitar, keyboard and piano.

As Bhuvan Bam didn’t have enough money to hire a tutor, he learnt from YouTube.

Then, he started writing his own songs and singing them live across the globe in various shows, private parties, festivals, etc. and this was his main source of income.

Bhuvan Bam also tried four times to enter into reality shows, but he couldn’t get into them.

An insensitive news reporter

Once Bhuvan Bam did a show in Srinagar and returned home.

Just a week later, he was saddened with the news that Srinagar had been badly hit with floods.

Bhuvan Bam became even more furious when he saw an insensitive news reporter enquiring a mother about her feelings on losing her son in the floods.

So, he made a satirical video on that news reporter with the help of his front camera of LG Nexus 5.

On 21 May 2015, Bhuvan Bam uploaded this video on his Facebook profile and 15 people watched it.

This motivated him to create more videos.

At that time his friends demotivated him and said that people wouldn’t like watching his videos but Bhuvan Bam persisted.

Starting BB Ki Vines-

At that time, Bhuvan Bam uploaded four videos on his Facebook profile and some of his friends suggested he create a separate Facebook page for his videos.

So, he created a Facebook page and named it BB Ki Vines.

The letters BB were derived from his initials, Bhuvan Bam and during that time vines were popular in the United States and United Kingdom, so he named his page as BB Ki Vines.

Within just a week, he garnered more than 30,000 fans on Facebook.

And within 8 months, Bhuvan Bam got 8 lakh followers on Facebook but he didn’t monetise his Facebook videos.

Entering YouTube-

One of his friends told Bhuvan Bam that it is possible to earn with YouTube.

So, on June 20, 2015, he started his YouTube channel by the name, BB Ki Vines.

Bhuvan Bam’s first YouTube video went viral in Pakistan and got more than 15,000 views.

After around six months, his video on Valentine’s Day became popular in India and from then he never looked back.

The main reason for Bhuvan Bam’s popularity is that his videos are relatable to the common man.

Initially, he was earning very less with YouTube but he persisted and eventually, he started making good money.

Rejections-

In the beginning of his YouTube career, Bhuvan Bam wanted to join All India Bakchod and The Viral Fever groups.

So, he emailed them but as he didn’t get any response from them, he continued working on his own YouTube channel.

An one-man army-

Bhuvan Bam shoots all his videos through the front camera of his phone and thanks to this, the production cost of his videos is zero.

He doesn’t have a team and completely manages his YouTube channel by himself.

Bhuvan Bam himself writes his scripts, shoots the videos and edit and upload them onto YouTube.

His manager Rohan handles his finances.

Many characters-

Initially, Bhuvan Bam feared that other people might copy his jokes.

So, he came up with an unique idea of creating different characters which nobody can copy.

Likewise, Bhuvan Bam created around 19 characters like Hola, Sameer, Angry Masterji, etc. and he himself plays all these characters.

Apart from acting, he also loves writing and his dream is to become a Bollywood actor.
