Inspiring Biography of Vijay Deverakonda

Vijay Deverakonda is a famous Indian actor and producer.

Introduction-

Deverakonda Vijay Sai (Vijay Deverakonda) was born on 9 May 1989 into a middle class family in Achampet, Telangana.

Achampet is located at a distance of around 135 km from Hyderabad.

His father, Deverakonda Govardhan Rao worked as a director until 2007 and directed several Telugu TV serials.

His experience with direction later helped in guiding Vijay Deverakonda.

Deverakonda Madhavi, Vijay Deverakonda’s mother worked in many roles as a teacher, headmistress and later, she started her own institute.

Vijay Deverakonda has a younger brother, Deverakonda Anand Sai who is also an actor.

Education-

Vijay Deverakonda and his brother did primary schooling in Sri Sathya Sai Primary School, Puttaparthi, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Later, they did their secondary schooling in Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, a boarding school.

Developing interest for movies-

It was a norm in the school’s hostel to allow the children to watch one movie per month.

Here, Vijay Deverakonda developed an interest for watching movies and got fascinated by the movies.

He used to actively participate in the extra curricular activities like dramatics, dumb charades, writing, drawing, etc. and read a lot of novels and books.

All these triggered the creative side of him.

Wanting to become a bus driver-

In his childhood, Vijay Deverakonda wanted to grow up to become a bus driver or bus conductor.

Later in his fourth standard, he wished to become a writer.

Further education-

After completing his schooling, Vijay Deverakonda chose Mathematics, Economics and Commerce (MEC) for intermediate education.

He did intermediate from Little Flower Junior College, Uppal, Hyderabad.

After completing intermediate, Vijay Deverakonda chose to study Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from Badruka College of Commerce and Arts (BCCA), Hyderabad.

He topped his class in his first year of BCom.

Fighting obesity-

Vijay Deverakonda in his teens was a foodie and this made him obese.

At 18, he became determined to lose weight and become fit.

Every morning, Vijay Deverakonda started waking up at 5 AM and ran in the KBR park for three hours and then practiced martial arts.

These strenuous exercises helped him to lose extra weight and become fit.

Obsessed with movies-

Later, Vijay Deverakonda started feeling Bcom to be too easy for him, so he started bunking college because was confident that he can pass the examinations without regularly attending the college.

So, now the only thing that he was doing was to sit at home and watch movies.

A few days later, his father got worried for him and suggested Vijay Deverakonda to either do farming by moving to a village or do whatever which interested him.

At that point of time, he revealed his passion of becoming an actor to his father and requested his father to join him in an acting workshop.

Vijay Deverakonda joined a theatre workshop and started performing at theater.

Doing plays-

At the theater, Vijay Deverakonda started doing many stage plays mostly in English and sometimes in Hindi because the Hyderabadis mostly preferred watching English plays.

He was disappointed to observe that only few people were turning up for the plays, so he wanted to enter into movies as the movies have the potential to reach millions of people all across the world.

A chance to act in movie-

In 2011, Vijay Deverakonda debuted with the Nuvvila film.

By that time, he completed his graduation and was expected to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

But Vijay Deverakonda didn’t like doing MBA and luckily around this same time, he got an opportunity to act in Sekhar Kammula’s Life Is Beautiful movie.

While acting for this movie, he also did an ad film for Nag Ashwin, a director.

Later, Nag Ashwin gave Vijay Deverakonda a chance to act in the Yevade Subramanyam movie.

As this movie became a hit, he became popular and started receiving many opportunities to act in films.

Then, Vijay Deverakonda acted in a lead role in Pelli Choopulu film and this movie became a big hit both in India and United States.

This movie also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu.

Later, he acted in several hit films like Arjun Reddy, Mahanati, Geetha Govindam, etc.

Giving back-

In April 2019, Vijay Deverakonda established The Deverakonda Foundation, a non-profit organization with an aim to provide support for the underprivileged youth through training and employment.

This foundation with the help of many volunteers provided the Middle-Class Fund to help the middle class families buy groceries during the COVID-19 crisis.

A little about Deverakonda Anand Sai-

Anand Sai worked as an engineer in Deloitte in the United States.

He used to financially help his family and this removed the pressure from Vijay Deverakonda to earn and thanks to this, he was able to fully focus on becoming an actor.

Later, Anand Sai returned to India to act in movies and he acted in the Dorasaani movie.

• Vijay Deverakonda can speak fluent Telugu and Hindi and a little bit of Tamil and Malayalam.
• Ranbir Kapoor is his favourite actor in Bollywood and in Tollywood, he likes Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu.
• Vijay Deverakonda has a huge following on social media. As of 12 July 2021, he has 12.5 million followers on Instagram, 9.8 million followers on Facebook and 2.3 million followers on Twitter.
