Attracted towards IPS–

Sachin Kumar Atulkar was born on 8 August and hails from Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.

Since his childhood, he was very inspired by the police and so, he wanted to grow up to become an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.

Sachin Atulkar’s father, V K Atulkar used to work as the Sub Divisional Officer (S.D.O.) Forest (General) in the Indian Forest Service and his elder brother works for the Indian Army and thanks to these, he too wanted to enter into the government service by becoming an IPS.

Clarity at a young age-

So, from a young age, Sachin Atulkar had the clarity that he needed to prepare for the Civil Services Exam and crack it.

So, from a young age he started preparing for the Civil Services with full focus and persistence.

Sachin Atulkar made a plan of the entire Civil Services syllabus and used to set everyday targets to study.

Cracking CSE-

After completing his graduation, Sachin Atulkar cracked the UPSC CSE 2006 in his first attempt and secured a rank of 258.

He became an IPS officer at an age of 22 and during that time, he was India’s youngest IPS officer.

Sachin Atulkar is a 2007 batch IPS officer and belongs to the Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Safin Hasan also became an IPS officer at the age of 22.

Many roles-

In 2007, Sachin Atulkar was designated as the Commandant of 7th Battalion Police, Bhopal.

Later, he was posted in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh and here, his tenure lasted for three years.

Then, Sachin Atulkar got transferred to Sagar, Bundelkhand.

In 2010, he became a Superintendent of Police (SP).

Later, Sachin Atulkar became the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Ujjain.

As of 2021, he is the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Chambal division.

Sports and fitness-

Since his school days, Sachin Atulkar has been very interested in sports.

He was a good cricketer and also played in his school’s national level and later also played in his college.

Later, while receiving police training, Sachin Atulkar also got interested in horse riding.

After becoming an IPS officer, he started bodybuilding to maintain his health and fitness and also to get relieved from stress.

Sachin Atulkar’s hobbies are gymming and weight training.

He inspired and is continuing to inspire the youth towards the police department, sports and bodybuilding.
