Introduction-
Michael Fisher was born on 29 March 1983 in Southampton, New York, United States.
He grew up on the farms of Eastern Long Island, New York.
His father, Willie Fisher is a licensed USCG captain and a woodworker.
Since his childhood Michael has been interested in technology and science fiction especially Star Trek.
He has a sister.
Education-
Michael did his schooling from Mattituck Jr/Sr High School in Mattituck, New York.
He badly wanted to join the Navy but this didn’t happen.
After completing his schooling in 2001, Michael joined Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Acting.
He graduated in 2008.
Working on YouTube-
Michael has been working on YouTube since 2007 on his father’s YouTube channel, Rapidnadion.
He has been helping his father by working as a videographer, editor and model maker for Rapidnadion.
During that time, as Michael had no plans to become a full-time YouTuber, he didn’t start his own YouTube channel.
He used to also blog at the Rapidnadion blog.
Career-
From September 2003 to October 2012, Michael worked as an independent professional actor and performed on stage, film and TV and also did voice work.
He acted in TV series like A Haunting and Psychic Witness and also in a TV movie, Almost History: The USS Cole.
From January 2004 to May 2008, Michael worked as a Wireless Consultant at Sprint Nextel.
An interesting fact- Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything also worked at the Sprint Nextel.
From August 2006 to May 2008, Michael worked as a Voice Talent for a multimedia legal content website.
He also worked as a Voice Talent and Production Manager for Courtroom Connect from June 2008 to June 2012.
Michael performed as an actor from January 2010 to November 2011 at Shakespeare Now Theatre Company and also from 2010 to 2012 at WheelsTV.
He also acted in commercials and plays.
Entering the tech field-
For a long time, Michael has been very interested in technology, especially mobiles.
In 2002, he used to discuss mobiles like Samsung A500, etc. in forums like HowardForums.
In 2012, Michael quit acting to make a career in technology.
In August 2012, he joined Pocketnow and worked in various roles such as Contributing Editor, Senior Editor and Editorial Director until February 2016.
Here, Michael worked as a writer and also produced videos and hosted podcasts.
His dream while working at Pocketnow was to become a blogger and work for popular tech sites like Engadget and The Verge but at Pocketnow, he was forced to work on videos and thanks to this, he developed an interest for creating videos.
While working here, Michael met many popular tech YouTubers like Marques Brownlee, Austin Evans, Lamarr Wilson and Ryan Bates.
Starting MrMobile [Michael Fisher] YouTube channel-
In 2011 itself, Michael wanted to become a tech YouTuber after getting inspired by one of the videos of Jon Rettinger, but he didn’t pursue this until 2016.
After quitting his job at Pocketnow, he started MrMobile [Michael Fisher] YouTube channel on 9 March 2016 along with Mobile Nations in the Greater Boston Area.
Kevin Michaluk of CrackBerry also helped Michael in launching MrMobile.
In January 2020, he joined hands with Future plc, a British media company and now, MrMobile brand is owned by Future plc.
Now, Michael is a very successful YouTuber and has more than a million subscribers on MrMobile YouTube channel.
He reviews various consumer technology products like phones, Kindles, tablets, smartwatches, laptops, headphones, cars, drones, etc.
Apart from this YouTube channel, Michael also has a website.
Story behind naming his channel MrMobile-
Kevin Michaluk came up with the MrMobile name.
While starting the channel, Michael used MrMobile as a temporary name for his channel and he was searching for a better name for his channel as he wasn’t impressed to name his channel as MrMobile.
But later, he realised that people were liking the name and also through this name, he could cover a wide range of technology products.
So, since then, Michael has stuck to MrMobile.
His other passions apart from technology are travelling and sailing.
