Since a young age, she loved studying and teaching.

Jamila was a nerd at school.

Education-

In 2008, at 16, she travelled from Azerbaijan to the United States to study for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Affairs from The George Washington University.

Jamila has double minors in Sociology and History.

She graduated in June 2012 with a Summa Cum Laude grade.

Then, Jamila travelled to Europe to study for a master’s degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium.

She graduated in 2013; she did her Master’s in French and English languages.

Love for etiquette; career-

As Jamila travelled a lot, she got exposed to different cultures, traditions, and ways of behaviour and some etiquette and diplomatic rules.

She became interested in learning about various cultures, traditions, languages, and etiquette rules and how they vary from country to country.

While studying in Europe, Jamila travelled around Europe and met many influential people in the European Union and met many VIP guests at the university and had lunch and dinner with them.

These things trained her to behave in a proper way around certain members of the society.

From June 2016 to September 2017, Jamila worked as an EU expert at the Center of Excellence in EU Studies, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) University, Baku, Azerbaijan.

While working here, she decided to introduce etiquette to the younger generation.

Jamila started teaching courses involving soft skills, presentation skills, public speaking, and drinking etiquette and decided to become a certified etiquette teacher.

So, she did a certification course at an etiquette school, International Etiquette And Protocol Academy, London.

In September 2017, Jamila followed her passion for etiquette and became an International Etiquette Consultant in Baku.

She does private online classes teaching etiquette and used to do international workshops teaching etiquette and speaking skills.

Jamila also worked as a part-time Etiquette and Business Foundation teacher at Oxbridge Academy, Baku.

Before teaching etiquette, she taught personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) at school.

In February 2017, Jamila co-founded ‘Gymbala,’ a toddler and child fitness gym in Baku, Azerbaijan.

An accidental YouTuber-

She used to teach etiquette in schools and do international workshops.

As a part of the course, Jamila used to take her students out to a restaurant or teahouse to have afternoon tea and practise table manners.

But around November 2019, the COVID-19 started occurring; so, she couldn’t take her students out to the restaurants to show them table manners.

So, Jamila decided to shoot a video and share them with her students, so that they could watch it from the comfort of their home.

So, on 5 November 2019, she started her eponymous YouTube channel.

And on the same day, Jamila published her first video, ‘Afternoon Tea Etiquette | Jamila Musayeva.’

This video was shot at Four Seasons Hotel, Baku.

Jamila didn’t upload her second video until May 2020; she uploaded her second video as she believed that online mode of teaching wouldn’t end soon.

As she continued publishing videos, she was inspired to see more and more people liking and commenting under her videos and subscribing to her YouTube channel.

So, Jamila started working part-time on her YouTube channel along with her part-time consulting work.

As of October 2023, she has 897K subscribers on her YouTube channel and 56.6K followers on Instagram.

Jamila earns from a variety of sources like advertisements on her YouTube videos, affiliate marketing, selling her courses, and books; she also accepts donations on Patreon.
