He has more than 2.1M subscribers on his YouTube channel, ‘Gamers Nexus.’

Introduction-

Stephen Burke was born on 1 January in the United States.

In June 2008, he started ‘Gamers Nexus‘ website to review games and do feature stories on games.

At that time, Stephen was more interested in gaming rather than in hardware.

Career-

In December 2005, Stephen founded Phoenix designs.

Phoenix designs focused on web designing, producing a gaming reviews magazine, providing gaming consulting services, etc.

Stephen worked here as a Lead Developer until January 2010.

From August 2009 to May 2010, he worked as a Contracted Test Technician at Dell.

From July 2009 to January 2014, Stephen worked as a Test Engineer at Interactive Products Corporation.

YouTube channel-

Stephen started the ‘Gamers Nexus’ YouTube channel on 12 May 2009.

As YouTube wasn’t very popular during that time, he primarily focused on his website and was using his YouTube channel only as a repository for trailer videos and for videos to be embedded in his blog posts.

Later, Stephen started focusing on his YouTube channel and started dedicatedly producing videos.

Dropping out of school-

Initially, Stephen was focusing on game reviews and then, he attended the PAX Prime 2012 and met a few hardware manufacturers.

As he was impressed by hardware, he dropped out of school to start working with the hardware companies that he met at PAX Prime.

And Stephen also shifted the content of his YouTube channel from gaming to hardware.

Much later, he built his own testing lab for his YouTube videos.

Starting small & becoming successful-

Initially, Stephen used to film computer builds on the floor and in February 2012, he purchased a folding card table and covered it with a white bedsheet, and this was all his set.

Also, his first studio was in his house and as it was very congested, he struggled to work in it and so, he later moved to a bigger studio at an office.

It took Stephen many years to grow his YouTube channel and be able to pay himself and his team.

Eventually, he became a successful YouTuber.

As of December 2023, Stephen has 2.11M subscribers on his Gamers Nexus YouTube channel.

Gamers Nexus has a decent sized team consisting of writers, a machine operator, hardware editor, etc.; Stephen works as an Editor-in-Chief.

Gamers Nexus is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, United States.

Stephen earns through a variety of sources like advertisements on his YouTube videos, affiliate marketing, receiving sponsorships, selling items on the GN store and he also accepts donations through Patreon.

Other channels-

On 24 March 2017, Stephen started his second YouTube channel, ‘GNSteve.’

And on 6 March 2021, he started his third YouTube channel, ‘GN Extras.’
