He has more than 1.3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel by the name kold.
Introduction-
Sam Kolder was born on 3 February 1996 in Toronto, Canada.
He grew up in Toronto.
His mother’s name is Jolanta Kolder.
Sam has a younger sister, Nicole Kolder and he had an older brother, Timothy Kolder (Tim Kolder).
He was very attached to Tim Kolder but unfortunately, he lost him on 15 May 2014 after Tim’s canoe capsized on Opeongo Lake in Algonquin Park.
Love for filmmaking-
At 10, Sam’s brother introduced him to filmmaking, he taught him to use a camera and cut clips on it and thanks to this, he instantly fell in love with filmmaking.
At that time, his parents believed that a successful career in filmmaking and photography was impossible and so they wanted him to become an accountant.
Unlike his parents, his brother was very supportive of him, and he wanted Sam to follow his heart and become a filmmaker.
Thanks to his love for filmmaking, Sam used to spend his free time editing, learning software and shooting random shots and made it his creative outlet.
At the end of his high school, he was pressured to choose either to pursue a traditional and stable job or pursue filmmaking and at that time, he didn’t know of any opportunities in filmmaking.
Sam’s brother passing during that time was a reality check for him and he realised the fragility and finity of life and so, he chose to follow his passion for filmmaking and make a career in it.
In his final year of high school, he took an open photography course and learnt about film cameras and film processing.
He completed his schooling in 2014 and then, he took a year off to travel and during that time, he did freelance video work.
In 2014, Sam wanted to study a film program at Ryerson University, but he got rejected and so he started learning filmmaking on his own.
For a while, he painted apartment buildings in Toronto but later, he followed his passion of filmmaking.
Aerial cinematography-
As Sam was impressed by the Phantom 2 drone, he waited for it for a long time till he saved up enough money to afford a used Phantom 2 and he purchased a used one on Craigslist.
And thanks to this drone, he fell in love with aerial cinematography.
His YouTube channels-
Even though Sam started his YouTube channel by the name kold on 4 October 2008, he started working on it only from May 2011.
He worked with reputable brands like DJI, Hyundai, etc.
DJI introduced him to Jones, and this helped him to better his drone flying skills.
Later, Sam started using a DJI FPV drone for filmmaking.
He strives to create a positive change in the world with his work and this is evident by his video against poaching.
On 8 June 2013, Sam started his second YouTube channel by the name sam kolder but there aren’t any videos on this channel.
As of March 2023, he has 1.31M subscribers on his primary YouTube channel, 119K followers on his Facebook page, 42.9K followers on Twitter and 32.7K followers on Instagram.
Sam also has a website.
He earns from a variety of sources like advertisements on his YouTube videos, through his school and affiliate marketing.
Sam’s amazing filmmaking, video editing and storytelling skills not only made him famous but also inspired many people to filmmaking.
He is a very successful filmmaker and attributes his curiosity to his success.

Collaborations-
Sam collaborated with The Chainsmokers YouTube channel and made a lyric video titled Roses.
In 2016, he also collaborated with the Beautiful Destinations tourism company to work as a Video Producer and helped them in their video strategy and YouTube channel.
Personal life-
Sam had been in a relationship with Arianna but later, they broke up.
Then, he had been in a relationship with Chelsea, but they broke up in 2019.
