Laura Wilson is an American farmer and a popular YouTuber.
She has over 800K subscribers on her YouTube channel Laura Farms.
Introduction-
Laura Carlson (Laura Wilson) was born on 11 May 2001 into a family of farmers.
She hails from Marquette village, Hamilton County, Nebraska, United States.
Both her parents, Cale and Megan, are farmers.
Cale is also a farming YouTuber.
His channel, LEAAD Farms, is named after the initials of his children, Laura, Ethan, Amanda, Adam and David. Laura is the eldest of them all.
Swedish origins-
Laura’s great-great-grandparents migrated from Sweden to the United States in 1910.
In the same year, they settled on the land in Nebraska and started farming with a couple of John Deere tractors.
They established Carlson farms in 1910 and over the years, it expanded to over 2000 acres of irrigated row crop farming.
Laura’s grandfather, Kurt, started a hog operation, after returning from Vietnam as a Seabee and expanded to cattle herds in the late 1980s.
Fifth-generation-
Laura helped her family raise pigs and cows and started her own cow herd at just 13.
She is a fifth-generation farmer.
Laura grew up helping her father and grandfather with farming and became a full-time farmer in 2020. She started farming on her own by renting 160 acres from Kurt in Nebraska.
Eventually, she rented more and more ground from him before starting farming with her husband.
Laura farms commercial white corn, yellow corn, soybeans and plant cover crops like cereal rye and turnips in South Central Nebraska.
A business graduate-
After completing her schooling from Nebraska Christian Schools, Laura joined University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study for her graduation.
At the time, she was poor and used to work at a local school.
Laura knew that she had to take debt to farm and she didn’t want to also take student loans.
So, she transitioned to Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 2019, to study Business Administration and Management, General and graduated debt free.
Even though Laura studied Business Administration, she wanted to make a career in farming, right from the beginning.
Settling as a farmer-
Laura worked as a detasseler for several years and as a nanny for a few years.
She also worked part-time at a school.
Laura considered becoming an athletic trainer and later thought of joining the military but finally she became a farmer.
Tractor made her viral-
Laura started her Twitter account at a young age as the topic of agriculture was popular on that platform.
She was asked to host the Ag of The World Twitter account, which was popular among farmers, for a week to showcase the farm life in Nebraska.
Laura started posting short videos onto that Twitter account.
One of her short videos of her showing the inside of a tractor cab became viral and got retweeted many times.
Laura Farms-
At the time, Laura didn’t have a YouTube channel and she feared that YouTubers might steal her viral Twitter video.
So, she started her YouTube channel Laura Farms on 24 April 2020 and posted her popular Twitter video, “Inside of a Tractor Cab.”
This video also became viral on YouTube with more than a million views and got shared on websites like Reddit.
This single video grew her channel exponentially and she got featured on KNOP-TV news website and Aurora News-Register.
Laura also received many offers to appear in TV shows across the world. But she rejected them as she wasn’t interested in TV.
At the time, she had come home from her college in Lincoln due to COVID and rented ground for farming and started posting videos of her farming in Nebraska.
Initially, Laura christened her YouTube channel LG farms. She changed it to Laura Farms five days later.
In the first month itself, Laura Farms channel got 30,000 subscribers.
Currently, she has over 800K subscribers on her channel.
She also does videos on Cameo and sells merchandise through Bunker Branding.
She films videos on her iPhone and then edits them on her Macbook with iMovie.
Personal life-
Laura married her boyfriend Grant Wilson in Central City, Nebraska on 19 December 2020.
He is a sixth-generation farmer.
Laura and Grant both hail from South Central Nebraska.
They met in Yellowstone during a group camping trip in high school and fell in love.
Tidbits-
- Laura loves power sports and her favourite outdoor activities are wakeboarding, jeeping, dirt biking and camping.
- The young Laura’s dream car was a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. But after becoming a farmer, her favourite vehicle has been a Chevrolet truck.
- Her first pick-up truck is a 2022 RAM 2500 Laramie.

I’ve been viewing Laura’s videos on Facebook for a long time. A day ago I got a message from what I assumed was her and she wanted to chat on Messenger. It didn’t take long to realize the person I was chatting with was an imposter pretending to be Laura. All the fakes on Facebook need to be found out and prosecuted.

Laura, you are an unbelievable inspiration! A friend sent me a link to one of your Reels, I am hooked.
I grew up on a farm in Michigan and thought I would follow my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather into farming. Dad owned 280 areas and we rented two other forms of 300 and 320 areas when I was in high school (1960-64). Dad bought a John Deere 4010 in about 1960. and we ended up with a 4020 about 1963. I dreamed of taking that over and expanding. Vietnam and a divorce came along, and I became an Air Traffic Controller. From what I see from your YouTubes I could have never done it. You and your husband are living my dream.
Best wishes and create another generation to career on.

You could have checked the status of the subscribers. She kept asking to him 500K before the end of harvest. They came close but have now passed that amount. Currently at 503K subscribers.

What an OUTSTANDING Young Lady! She’s an inspiration for all the Young People today, and from her record to date, she works harder than most young men I see out there in the world today.
I wish her the Best Always and hopes she continues on to do even greater things.

Laura, during my forty plus year career in Silicon Valley, I worked and managed many young talented people. But, you take the cake, for the hardest worker who always has a smile( on camera) at least. Good luck and keep dreaming .
