Geoff is a popular gamer and YouTuber.

He has 2.22M subscribers on his YouTube channel, ‘Modest Pelican.’

Introduction-

Geoff GH was born on 11 February 1994.

He hails from Australia.

A born gamer-

Geoff has been a nerdy gamer since a young age and at 10, he created his gamertag, Geoff GH (GH are his initials).

As a child, he enjoyed playing games like Halo: Combat Evolved, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Hitman.

Hitman has been one of his favourite franchises of all time and after Geoff started his YouTube channel, he enjoyed producing videos on Hitman.

A missed chance-

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released on 8 November 2011 and as Geoff was impressed after playing this game, he wanted to start a YouTube channel and publish his Modern Warfare 3 gameplays onto it.

He used the Theater Mode in this game and recorded several of his gameplays and out of them, he selected his best gameplay and readied to start his YouTube channel.

Unfortunately, as his file got corrupted, Geoff grew annoyed and dropped his idea of starting a YouTube channel.

Education-

After studying for an architecture degree for a couple of years, Geoff studied for a major in accounting from a university.

Also, he was a part of the university soccer team.

Modest Pelican-

While studying at the university, Geoff was also working at a finance firm.

During that time, he had moved out with his girlfriend and both of them were working full-time.

As Geoff was bored with his job and wanted to start a YouTube channel for a long time, on 29 May 2013, he started his YouTube channel, ‘Modest Pelican.’

In 2016, he started off by publishing the Battlefield 1 videos.

Geoff started off his YouTube channel with an Xbox and a laptop.

Succeeding with sarcasm-

Initially, Geoff used to publish YouTube videos on gaming tips and tricks.

Once, at the end of a video, he added a joke on Ariana Grande and received a great response for it and people appreciated his joke more than his gaming video.

At that time, Geoff realised that it would be better for him to change the niche of his channel from gaming tips and tricks to adding sarcasm in gameplays.

He took this decision because at that time as Battlefield had become popular, many YouTubers were already making good tips and tricks videos on the game and he felt it difficult to differentiate himself and so, he chose sarcasm as his niche.

Geoff started incorporating jokes into his videos and thanks to this, he crossed one thousand subscribers on Modest Pelican.

His first viral video & the Stealtho boys-

On 24 April 2017, Geoff published a video, ‘9 Types Of Battlefield Players | BF1 Funny Video;’ this video got shared on the gaming Facebook pages and became viral and got hundreds of thousands of views.

Even before he started working on his YouTube channel, he used to play online and befriended some gamers online and they are nicknamed as Stealtho boys (also Sons of Virgins).

Later, Geoff started collaborating with Stealtho boys in his YouTube videos.

Apart from him, two other members of the Stealtho boys also have YouTube channels namely, Stealtho Carbo and Robbo.

Playing a lot of video games & quitting his job for YouTube-

Even though initially Geoff started off by playing Battlefield 1 videos on his YouTube channel, he later started playing other video games like PUBG, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Sea of Thieves, etc.

After publishing around a hundred videos on Battlefield 1, he found it difficult to create more videos on Battlefield 1, as he exhausted all the ideas and so, he started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and making videos on it.

Even though Geoff changed the video games, his audience remained loyal and continued watching his videos and thanks to the Red Dead Redemption 2 videos, his YouTube channel skyrocketed.

This gave him the confidence to become a full-time YouTuber and also, as he was finding it difficult to manage his full-time job along with working on his YouTube channel, he quit his finance job in 2019 and became a full-time YouTuber.

At that time, Geoff had around a 100 thousand subscribers and his viewers were already financially supporting him through Patreon and were also purchasing his merchandise.

A successful YouTuber-

After becoming a full-time YouTuber, as Geoff invested more hours into his YouTube channel, his channel grew even bigger.

As of December 2023, he has 2.22M subscribers on his Modest Pelican YouTube channel.

And Geoff has 133K followers on Twitch, 76.7K followers on Instagram and 58.6K followers on Twitter.

He also has a couple of YouTube channels namely, Modest Pelican Clips, and Papa Peli.

Personal life-

Geoff has been in a relationship with Anna.

She helps him with social media.

Geoff used to live in Melbourne but later shifted to a small town in Australia.

Geoff always wanted to be a writer and not make a career with his voice as he feels that his voice is monotonous but he ended up becoming a YouTuber and entertaining his audience with his monotonous voice.

Geoff has been naturally very thirsty all the time and drinks around 5-6 litres of water per day and this is the origin of the slogan ‘Stay hydrated’, which is also the description of his YouTube channel and some of his videos.
